The Magic Kite is a children's movie that was produced in 1991 by Dave Habeeb and Larry Welch.  Running time is 30 minutes.  Shot on location at Hampton Beach, Hampton NH and Salisbury Beach, Salisbury, MA.

The story

A white kite is magically brought to life by a lonely sea captain with a special gift.  Swept away by a raging storm, it crashes among the dunes.  A young boy, Tommy, rescues the magic kite and becomes its trusted friend. But, Tommy's older brother Marc plans to use the kite to confront Kevin, the bully of the beach.  Can Tommy convince Marc to set the kite free?  "The Magic Kite" is an inspiring film for the entire family!

Winner of the 1991 Emerson College EVVY Award for Best Videography.
Also, nominated for Best Editing.  The video played favorably at showings held at local schools.  It was also available as a rental at several local video stores back in 1991.

The film

Dave Habeeb has produced several independent projects to date.  He is currently working on a sci-fi short and will soon be looking for actors, musicians, and special effects people.  The Magic Kite does not currently have a distributor.  If interested, or for more information on current projects, please contact Dave Habeeb @ dhabeeb65@yahoo.com
